YABC Rates

A YABC insurance rate is now available for both professional and commercial liability.

All registered teachers may access this rate via Speirs & Co. through the insurance application on the YABC insurance page.

The process to merge the insurance and registry applications into one is pending. I am personally committed to completing this step as soon as possible. Momentum is building such that by 2009 we can significantly decrease the rates below, offer other group plans such as health & dental, and share a great continuing education program with Senior Teachers in BC.

As of January 17th, 2007:

Professional Liability:
-Working under 10 hrs weekly $140.00
-Working over 10 hrs weekly $220.00

For prenatal / postnatal, elderly, or anyone considered high risk will need malpractice coverage:
Malpractice :
-Working under 10 hrs weekly $220.00
-Working over 10 hrs weekly $330.00

Commercial Liability:
-Renting or leasing space or teaching from your home, studio insurance starts at $660.00 depending on size of space.

Notes:
-Rates for employees or additional malpractice coverage may contact Speirs & Co. directly.
-All of these quotes include $2 million CGL and $1 million E&O.
-The coverage travels with the insured from place to place as long as they are independent contractors. 
*Please attach a copy of your yoga training certification and a waiver form to the insurance application.
